Considering applying to the University of Toronto Temerty Faculty of Medicine? This session will provide you with direct insight into the admissions process, applicant expectations, and the medical student experience from the people who know it best.

You will hear from official Temerty Admissions representatives as well as a panel of current Temerty medical students. The goal of this event is to help you understand what a strong application looks like, how decisions are made, and what life in medical school is like on a day-to-day level.

Program Schedule

5:30 – 5:50 pm | Admissions Representatives: Admissions Overview
Admissions representatives from the Temerty Faculty of Medicine will outline the application process, evaluation criteria, and key elements of a competitive file. This portion will clarify how applicants are reviewed beyond grades and test scores.

5:50 – 6:00 pm | Admissions Representatives: Q&A
An opportunity to ask specific questions regarding requirements, timelines, interviews, and common application challenges.

6:00 – 6:10 pm | Medical Student Introductions
Current Temerty medical students will introduce themselves and share a brief overview of their academic background, path to medicine, and areas of interest.

6:10 – 6:30 pm | Medical Student Panel Discussion
A moderated discussion with current medical students focusing on the applicant experience and the transition into medical school. Topics may include: preparing for interviews, managing academics and extracurriculars, dealing with stress and self-doubt, and adjusting to the demands of medical training.

6:30 – 6:50 pm | Medical Student Q&A
An open Q&A with the student panel. Attendees are encouraged to ask about workload, scheduling, research and extracurricular involvement, support systems, and overall quality of life as a Temerty medical student.

6:50 – 7:30 pm | Networking
Informal networking with both Temerty Admissions representatives and current medical students. This is an opportunity to seek guidance, request practical advice, and build connections for future mentorship.
