Designed especially for first-year students, this flagship UTPMSA event is the perfect introduction to succeeding at UofT as a pre-med. Our team will share practical strategies, insider tips, and curated resources to help you start strong and stay on track for medical school.

During this session, we’ll cover:

• Study Strategies: Learn effective and efficient approaches for excelling in core Life Sciences courses such as BIO, CHM, and MAT, with a curated list of study materials provided to all attendees.

• Academic Success at UofT: Discover how to maintain a competitive GPA in UofT’s rigorous environment while balancing extracurriculars.

• Medical School Requirements: Understand key course requirements for Canadian and US medical schools (e.g., completing 1.0 FCE of English for UBC Medicine) and how to plan your courses strategically.

• Getting Involved in Research: Explore how to find research opportunities early and build experiences that strengthen your medical school application.

This event also marks the first opportunity for students to sign up for UTPMSA General Membership. New members will receive their membership packages at the event.

To wrap up, the evening will conclude with a networking and social session, giving you the chance to connect with peers, mingle with our executive team, and enjoy some food in a relaxed atmosphere.
